Introducer Sheath

The introducer sheath is an arterial or venous line and introduce trans-arterial pacing wires, intra-aortic balloon forces or intravascular sound. It is a swathing device used in artery or vein during different kinds of cardiac procedures. The sheath helps guide wires and tubes to be threaded towards the heart through artery or vein. It is evident to carefully observe the site of the sheath during insertion and after removal of insertion. With the seldinger technique, introducer sheath gets inserted into the vein or artery.
